For a garage that does not get direct sun and where the budget matters, yes — a proper two-part epoxy with a polyurethane or polyaspartic topcoat is a good floor. Its weaknesses are yellowing in UV, a slower cure, and less tolerance for hot tires than polyaspartic. Store-bought epoxy kits are a different, much thinner product, and they are why epoxy has a reputation for peeling.
Why did my epoxy garage floor peel?
Preparation or moisture, almost always. Epoxy needs a mechanically ground slab to bond; over a smooth or acid-etched slab it sits on the surface and lets go under a hot tire. Moisture rising through the slab from the ground pushes the coating off from below. Both are checked before a floor is coated, and a floor that peeled was coated without them.
